History of Law Enforcement In
2003, Chief James T. McBride and Dr. Ronald J.
Taddeo undertook an interesting and complex
challenge. They set out to examine the history of
law enforcement in Lake County, Ohio.
The dedicated efforts of these two amateur
historians unveiled a more interesting and complex
story simply begging to be told. The authors
solicited contributions from 23 agency officials,
conducted interviews with retired “icons” and
younger “beat cops”,and undertook extensive
research to develop this manuscript and present it
in a colorful manner. They took many steps to make
sure that the content of the final manuscript was
as historically accurate as possible.
The final product makes not only for interesting
reading, but can also be used as a text book and a
historical reference document.
